Digital Health's Challenges and Opportunities
Despite its promise, digital health is frequently disconnected from larger health strategies and poorly integrated. To fully realize its potential, governments and stakeholders must come together around a shared vision and strategy for digital health . Data system implementation in days or hours has already been shown to support urgent operational decisions as well as basic and clinical research. National preparedness plans, on the other hand, rarely included agreement on key information, which slowed data flows and decision-making. This work yielded a blueprint for digital health policy implementation. The number of mobile users has increased in tandem with the growth of smartphones and internet penetration. As a result, medical technologies such as AI, genomics, telemedicine, virtual reality, peer support, and others are becoming more widely available.
